WhatsApp India announced an initiative named SMBSaathi Utsav that aims to support small businesses by helping them adopt digital mediums such as the WhatsApp Business App.
SMBSaathi Utsav commenced with a pilot in Jaipur where over 500 small businesses are being trained on running their business online. The initiative was launched in collaboration with Josh Talks.

All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has become the first accreditation body in the world to have its office space in the metaverse.
Michigan-based Information Data Systems Inc. (IDS) unveiled the outlook of the AICTE in the metaverse. It is a simulated digital environment that uses augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR). IDS launched Bharat Blockchain Network (Academic Blockchain Consortium) and Polyversity (Educational Metaverse) in the presence of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Ace Music Director A R Rahman was named the season ambassador of the British Council’s ‘India/UK Together 2022, a Season of Culture’.
The initiative was launched to celebrate India’s 75th anniversary and bilateral relations between the two nations. Under the program, over 1,400 artists from India-UK will showcase collaborations in dance, music, theatre, poetry, literature, visual arts and creative technology.

The Union Ministry of Power has notified the Green Open Access Rules 2022 to accelerate India’s renewable energy programmes.
Under the new rules, consumers can demand green power from power distribution companies (Discoms). The green open access is allowed to all consumers and the limit of open access transaction has been reduced from 1 MW to 100 kW for green energy.

US President Biden and dozens of other world leaders gathered at Los Angeles for the ninth Summit of the Americas.
The Summit of the Americas is organised about every three years and brings together representatives from countries in the Western region to tackle issues such as immigration, trade and poverty. Former President Bill Clinton hosted the first summit in 1994 in Miami.
