Rajasthan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Telangana government’s Stree Nidhi Credit Cooperative Federation.
The aim is to set up the first all women-run cooperative bank in Rajasthan, on the lines of the Stree Nidhi model of Telangana. ‘Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi’ fund would be operated by the women Self Help Groups for the women of SHG only.

Gujarat has been approved to host the 36th National Games between September 27 and October 10, in 2022.
The last edition of the National Games was organised in Kerala in 2015. Gir Lion and Statue of Unity with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel are seen in the logo of the Games. IOA (Indian Olympic Association) accepted the proposal of Gujarat for hosting the event after 7 years.

‘United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)’ is headquartered at Amman, Jordan and Gaza, Palestinian Authority. It was founded in 1949.
India recently contributed USD 2.5 million to this UN agency that supports the relief and human development of Palestinian refugees. Since 2018, the Government of India has contributed UNRWA 20 million US dollars to UNRWA.

The World Bank has appointed Indermit Gill as the chief economist and senior vice president for development economics.
Indermit Gill will be the second Indian, after Kaushik Basu, to become the chief economist of the World Bank. It is an international financial institution that grants loan to middle and lower-income countries.

India has designated five new wetlands of International importance, as the Ramsar sites in the country have been increased from 49 to 54.
The new sites include three wetlands (Karikili Bird Sanctuary, Pallikaranai Marsh Reserve Forest and Pichavaram Mangrove) in Tamil Nadu, one (Pala wetland) in Mizoram and one wetland (Sakhya Sagar) in Madhya Pradesh.
