Telangana government has issued guidelines for the implementation of Maha Lakshmi scheme, aimed at providing free travel to women in TSRTC buses.
The Maha Lakshmi scheme aims to provide free travel for girls, women of all age groups, and transgender persons in state-run Palle Velugu and express buses operated by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) within the borders of Telangana State.

Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) leader Lalduhoma was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Mizoram.
Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr. Lalduhoma. Former Indian Police Service officer Lalduhoma’s Zoram People’s Movement won 27 of the State’s 40 Assembly seats.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) enhanced the UPI payment limits for healthcare and education to ₹5 lakh from ₹1 lakh.
The transaction limits for e-Mandates have been hiked from ₹15,000 to ₹1 lakh. This is likely to help consumers make recurring payments for mutual funds, insurance premium and credit cards.

Noted Bhutanese author Tshering Tashi was conferred with the Sahitya Akademi’s ‘Premchand Fellowship’.
Mr. Tashi is a writer known for his works in the field of creative non-fiction. He has written numerous books on Bhutan and is the co-author of The Bodhisattva King, Bold Bhutan Beckons, Symbols of Bhutan, and is an independent author of works like Mysteries of the Raven Crown, Legacy of Gongzim Ugyen Dori, and Myth and Memory – Untold Stories of Bhutan.

U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently approved a pair of gene therapies for sickle cell disease.
It includes the first treatment based on the breakthrough CRISPR gene editing technology. Both the therapies were approved for people aged 12 years and older. The Vertex/CRISPR gene therapy uses the breakthrough gene editing technology that won its inventors the Nobel Prize in 2020.
