Notes:
India and the US will conduct a fortnight-long mega military exercise named ‘Yudh Abhyas’ in Uttarakhand’s Auli in October 2022.
The 18th edition of the exercise is scheduled to include number of complex drills. The last edition of the exercise took place in October 2021 in Alaska in the US. In June 2016, the US designated India a ‘Major Defence Partner’.

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Army test-fired the indigenously developed Laser-Guided Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM).
It was launched from Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun at KK Ranges with support of Armoured Corps Centre and School in Maharashtra.  The all-indigenous Laser Guided ATGM employs a High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) warhead.

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to launch a Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. It is the smallest and lightest commercial rocket built by ISRO
The rocket will also carry the Indian tricolour, which will be unfurled in space to mark the 75th year of independence. The SSLV will carry EOS-02, an indigenously developed earth observation satellite, and Cubesat AzaadiSAT, which was developed by 750 school girls across 75 schools in rural India. The satellite will carry a special space song along with the national anthem.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das-chaired Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) raised the repo rate by 50 basis points (bps) to 5.40 percent.
The decision was taken to tame persisting high inflation. After the decision, the repo rate is above pre-pandemic levels of 5.15 percent. The overall rate hike in three successive policy meets has gone to 140 basis points.

China fired ballistic missiles and deployed fighter jets and warships as it began its largest-ever military exercises around Taiwan, a show of force
This was commenced as retaliation to the visit of the US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s to the island. Pelosi was the highest-profile US official to visit Taiwan in years. The Taiwanese cabinet said the drills would disrupt 18 international routes passing through its flight information region.
