India’s mining major NMDC in association with FICCI organised a conference on Indian minerals and metal industry on the theme ‘Transition Towards 2030 & Vision 2047’ in New Delhi.
As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the conference was organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Steel and the Ministry of Mines. The objective of the event was to discuss on the roadmap for the minerals and metal industry to achieve Vision 2047.

Notes:
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) withdrew the restrictions on American Express Banking Corp and allowed the company to onboard new customers following satisfactory compliance with data storage norms.
The RBI, in 2021, had restricted US-based credit card service  from onboarding new domestic customers onto its card network for non-compliance with RBI’s rules on storage of payment system data.

U.S. President Joe Biden marked Ukraine’s Independence Day with USD 3 billion in security assistance. This is the country’s largest aid package since Russia’s invasion six months ago.
It is feared that Russia appeared to be planning to launch fresh attacks in coming days.The new package would include six additional surface-to-air missile systems known as NASAMS, counter-artillery radars, Puma drones, along with counter-drone systems known as VAMPIRE.

A tripartite agreement was signed by National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for swift development of modern Multi Modal Logistics Parks (MMLP).
The MoU was signed under the  Bharatmala Pariyojna across the country with an objective to centralize freight consolidation and reduce logistics cost from 14% to less than 10% of GDP.
