Curtain raiser event about Wings India, 2022
Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, inaugurated a curtain raiser event on November 18, 2021, regarding Wings India, 2022.

- Wings India, 2022 is the largest event on Civil Aviation (Commercial, General and Business Aviation) in Asia.
- On the occasion, minister appreciated the efforts of Civil Aviation Ministry, FICCI and AAI with the support of MEA and states government in organising the Wings India 2022.
- The biennial event is scheduled to held from March 24 to 27, 2022, at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad.
- The event was held under the theme: “India@75: New Horizon for Aviation Industry”.
Aim of the event
The Wings India, 2022 aims to bring the key stakeholders of Global Aviation market, States Governments, International regulators, and business associations together as a group representing airlines, in order to facilitate direct interaction with airport operators, various airlines, cargo operators and other players on a common platform.
Indian Civil Aviation industry
Currently, India handles the third largest domestic traffic worldwide, following USA and China. This industry has witnessed significant growth over years, and had contributed significantly to India’s economic development. It is the pride of the nation as it is playing an important role in connecting Indians to the remotest area within the country as well as across the world.
Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)
Indian government had announced Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) called Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik scheme (UDAN) on October 21, 2016. As of now, it is running across 387 routes connecting 62 Airports which also include 6 Heliports and 2 Water Aerodromes. With the launch of this scheme, civil aviation sector in India is emerging as major pillar of economic growth.
