Drugmaker Cipla has launched drone-based deliveries of its critical medicines for hospitals in Himachal Pradesh, in partnership with Skye Air Mobility.
The medicines included cardiac, respiratory, and other essential chronic therapies. The use of drones will support on-time delivery of the company’s medicines to chemists and clinics in remote areas, while minimising risks including temperature-linked issues affecting cold chain products.

Kongthong, a village situated in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, recently bagged the award at the National Tourism Awards 2023.
These awards were conferred by the Union Tourism Ministry. Meghalaya implements the Homestay Scheme, providing a subsidy of up to 7 lakh rupees per homestay. About 300 homestays were sanctioned in the last year.

Despite having the largest population and the highest electricity demand in India, Uttar Pradesh is facing challenges in attaining its solar energy goals.
A report by the nonprofit organization Vasudha Foundation, in collaboration with the government’s public policy think tank NITI Aayog, revealed that Uttar Pradesh had the highest electricity demand in the country in July 2023, along with Maharashtra, both recording 15.3 billion units of electricity consumption.

At the Asian Games in Hangzhou, the Indian men’s 10m air pistol team secured a gold medal.
The team, comprising Sarabjot Singh, Arjun Singh Cheema, and Shiva Narwal, managed to edge out the Chinese team in a close contest, clinching the top spot on the podium.

The Indian Army, in partnership with the United Service Institution of India (USI), recently orgnised a hybrid panel discussion as part of Project Udbhav.
Project Udbhav, initiated by the Indian Army, is a program designed to reexamine the deep-rooted Indian traditions of statecraft and strategic thinking, drawing insights from ancient Indian texts on statecraft, warfare, diplomacy, and grand strategy.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved capital- management reforms that will unlock $100 billion in funds over the next 10 years to support Asia and the Pacific.
The reforms also create a Countercyclical Lending Buffer to support ADB developing member countries (DMCs) facing unexpected crises.

The United States Congress recently passed a stopgap funding bill to avert government shutdown.
A shutdown was anticipated, where most of the government’s 4 million employees would not get paid and also would shutter a range of federal services, from National Parks to financial regulators.

China recently opened its first cross-sea bullet train linking major cities in the southeastern Fujian province.
The bullet trains or high-speed rail (HSR) will travel at the same 350 km per hour speed as other trains on the network.
