The World Bank has released the “World Development Report 2023: Migrants, Refugees, and Societies”.
According to this report, around 184 million people across the globe lack citizenship to the country in which they live. The report proposes a framework to maximize the development impacts of cross-border movements on both destination and origin countries.

Italian bees, also known as Apis mellifera, were first brought to India in 1962 and reared in Nagrota, Himachal Pradesh. These bees are used to pollination of Apple fruit crops in the region.
Recently, unseasonal rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh is said to have killed Italian honeybees thereby causing huge losses for apple growers. Most bee deaths have been reported from Shimla, Kinnaur, Lahaul Spiti and Kullu districts, which are at an elevation of 2.13 kilometres or above.

Mobile vaccine printer is an innovative technology developed by researchers at MIT. This small device is capable of producing hundreds of vaccine doses within a single day.
It has the potential to provide vital vaccines to individuals in remote regions who lack the required resources for conventional vaccine storage and transportation.

The twenty-second session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) will take place at United Nations Headquarters, New York.
United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues is the largest annual gathering of indigenous people. The priority theme of the session is: “Indigenous Peoples, human health, planetary and territorial health and climate change: a rights-based approach”.

Princess of Asturias award is one of the 8 prizes conferred by the foundation named for Spanish Crown Princess Leonor to recognize achievements the arts, science and other areas.
The award was bestowed recently to American actress, Meryl Streep for her performances in a career spanning over 50 years.

The CGTMSE (Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises) Scheme provides a hybrid security product to allow guarantee cover for the portion of credit facility not covered by the collateral security.
A revamped CGTMSE scheme was launched to guarantee additional Rs.2 lakh crore to micro and small enterprises.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has approved the proposal to set up the new Integrated Defence Staff Headquarters.
This proposed state-of-the-art facility will host new officers’ mess and camp. The Chief Minister also approved a proposal to remove 114 trees from the construction site.

The ‘National Manufacturing Innovation Survey (NMIS) 2021-22: Summary for Policymakers’ was released recently.
The survey was undertaken by the Department of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). As per the survey, Karnataka is the most innovative state in manufacturing followed by Telangana.

Notes:
The Telangana State Secretariat, the brain child of Chief Minister has been inaugurated on April 30. It was constructed at a cost of around Rs.600 crore.
Named after B.R. Ambedkar, the secretariat is spread over 28 acres and, rising 265 feet high, is taller than the Qutab Minar in Delhi, Taj Mahal in Agra and the iconic Charminar in Hyderabad.

Ekta Evam Shradhanjali Abhiyan is a multi-modal expedition organized by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
The expedition is organized as part of the 64th BRO Day Celebrations. In 2022-23, the BRO completed 103 infrastructure projects, the most by the organisation in a single year.
