Notes:
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Edappadi K Palaniswami has recently inaugurated the Advanced Institute of Integrated Research in Livestock and Animal Science (AIIRLAS) in the state.
It is located in Thalaivasal of Salem district. It is considered to be the largest such institution in Asia and has been constructed at a cost of Rs.1,023 crore.

Notes:
The world’s largest cricket stadium located at Motera in Ahmedabad has been renamed as the Narendra Modi Stadium. It was inaugurated recently, by the President of India Ram Nath Kovind recently.
The stadium is built as a part of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave, which is spread in 220 acres in the banks of Sabarmati river.

The second edition of Khelo India Winter Games is being held in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
This is an annual event which is organised by the J&K Sports Council in association with the J&K Winter Games Association under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. This function was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a virtual mode.

The state of Assam celebrates the Bir Chilarai Divas every year, to commemorate the birth anniversary of the brave General of Assam, Chilarai.
Chilarai was a great general of the Koch Royal Dynasty of Assam. He played a significant role in expanding the great empire of his elder brother Maharaja Nara Narayan. The government of Assam confers Bir Chilarai Award, the highest honor for bravery to individuals.

Notes:
The ISRO’s 53rd space mission using the PSLV C51 rocket will launch Amazonia-1 as the primary satellite.
This satellite belongs to Brazil. In addition, the launch vehicle will also carry 18 co-passenger payloads. The rocket would be launched from Sriharikota spaceport in Andhra Pradesh.

Notes:
The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C51 (PSLV-C51) rocket of India successfully lifted off from Sriharikota launch pad.
It was carrying 19 satellites from Brazil, USA and India with the Brazil’s 637-kilogram optical earth observation satellite Amazonia 1, as its primary passenger. This is the first commercial mission of New space India limited.

Notes:
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has extended the re-appointment of Pramod Chandra Mody as Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
PC Mody, a 1982-batch Indian Revenue Service officer, was appointed as the CBDT Chairman in February 2019. His tenure was extended in August last year for six months.

The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) has partnered with Microsoft India to launch an ‘AI Gamechangers’ programme.
Under the programme, NASSCOM will identify feasible and impactful AI-driven innovations that are taking place in India. Microsoft has been designated as the ‘Innovation Partner’ for the programme.

Notes:
The Ministry of Housing and Housing Affairs (MoHUA) has launched the field assessment of Swachh Survekshan, 2021. It is the sixth edition of this annual cleanliness survey which is conducted by the Government of India.
The Swachh Survekshan 2021 was introduced by the MoHUA in the year 2016. It was launched as a competitive framework in a bid to encourage the cities to improve their status of the urban sanitation.

Notes:
The New South Wales State government and the Taronga Conservation Society of Australia announced that they are building the world’s first Platypus Sanctuary.
This first-of-its kind refugee centre aims to promote breeding and rehabilitation of the duck-billed mammal, which has been facing extinction due to climate change. The facility is to be created in a zoo which is over 390 km from Sydney.
