The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched three satellites from Singapore in its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C53) mission.
It is being launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. PSLV-C53 is also the second dedicated mission of NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), a corporate arm of the Department of Space. ISRO has successfully launched the PSLV-C52 mission in February 2022 by injecting Earth Observation Satellite (EOS-04).

The Group of 7 (G7) leaders from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the US have concluded a two-day summit.
They also announced goals of an open and cooperative international Climate Club towards establishing it by the end of 2022. The G7 leaders also condemned “Russia’s illegal and unjustifiable war of aggression against Ukraine”.

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN Habitat) is the United Nations programme for human settlements and sustainable urban development. It was established in 1978 with its headquarters at Nairobi, Kenya.
It has recently released a report World Cities Report 2022, to coincide with the Eleventh Session of the World Urban Forum held at Poland. The report says urban areas are responsible for 70 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions.

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) carried out the maiden flight test of the ‘autonomous flying wing technology demonstrator’ in Karnataka.
The test, carried out from the Aeronautical Test Range in Chitradurga, Karnataka is being seen as an important milestone towards developing unmanned aircraft technology in India.

Punjab has become the first state in the country to pass a resolution against the Agnipath recruitment scheme.
The resolution also said that more than one lakh soldiers from Punjab served in the armed forces of the nation. The house also recommended the state government to take up the matter with the Union government in order to roll back the Agnipath scheme immediately.

The Mercer’s 2022 cost of living city ranking was recently released with the list of the most expensive cities for international employees.
Mumbai is the most expensive city in India for foreign employees, at rank 127 globally. It is followed by New Delhi at rank 155. Pune and Kolkata are the least expensive Indian cities in the ranking at 201 and 203 respectively.

The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) is the voluntary self-regulatory body in advertising sector in India.
As per the annual complaints report, Education, healthcare and personal care are the most violative categories of advertisements. It processed 7,631 complaints at an increase of 25 per cent from last year.

In the QS Best Student Cities Ranking 2023, London has been ranked as the best city for students looking to study abroad.
Seoul and Munich are at the second place. The report ranks 140 cities in terms of affordability, student facilities, and university standard among other factors. India’s highest-ranked student city is Mumbai at 103 spot. It is followed by Bengaluru at 114th rank.

International Day of Cooperatives is celebrated on the first Saturday of July every year. The day was designated by the United Nations.
International Day of Cooperatives was observed around the world on July 2 this year. This year will mark the 100th International Day of Cooperatives, also known as Coops Day. This year’s theme for International Day of Cooperatives is – “Cooperatives Build a Better World.”

Notes:
Jasprit Bumrah created a world record for scoring the most runs in an over in Test cricket. He smashed two sixes and four fours to score 35 runs in an over.
He achieved the feat during the 5th Test between India and England in the over bowled by England speedster Stuart Broad. He had conceded 6 sixes in an over to Yuvraj Singh in the T20 format in 2007.
