ALH MK III helicopters have been indigenously manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
An advanced light helicopter (ALH) MK III squadron was commissioned in Gujarat’s Porbandar by the Director General of the Indian Coast Guard at the ICG Air Enclave. It includes advanced RADAR, electro-optical sensors, Shakti engines, advanced communication systems among others.

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has unveiled regulations by defining what constitutes vegan foods.
‘Food Safety and Standards (Vegan Foods) Regulations, 2022’ listed out various specifications to be followed for manufacture, sale and import of such food items. The new regulations were released after considering objections and suggestions from the public

Notes:
The government allowed firms like ONGC and Vedanta to sell locally produced crude oil to any Indian refinery for turning it into fuel, such as petrol and diesel.
The deregulation of locally produced oil is one of the last few areas that were still under its control. The government was fixing buyers for crude produced from older fields. From October 1, the companies will have the freedom to sell crude oil in the domestic market.

India’s largest floating Solar Power Project is made fully operational at Ramagundam, Telangana. NTPC declared Commercial Operation of the final part capacity out of 100 MW Ramagundam Floating Solar PV Project at Ramagundam, Telangana
With the operationalisation the project, the total commercial operation of Floating Solar Capacity in Southern Region rose to 217 MW. Earlier, NTPC declared operation of Floating Solar at Kayamkulam (Kerala) and at Simhadri (Andhra Pradesh).

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman released the ‘Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP), 2020’. Andhra Pradesh has topped the Business Reform Action Plan 2020 Rankings in the Ease of Doing Business.
It is followed by Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Punjab, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. The BRAP 2020 includes 301 reform points covering 15 business regulatory areas such as Access to Information, Single Window System, Labour, Environment, Land Administration etc.

The National Anti-profiteering Authority (NAA) is the statutory mechanism under GST law to check unfair profiteering activities by the registered suppliers.
The GST watchdog has held cosmetics and personal care company L’oreal guilty of not passing on the rate reduction benefits to consumers to the tune of ₹186 crore.  NAA has directed L’oreal to deposit the sum along with 18% interest in the consumer welfare fund.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released the report titled ‘Benchmarking India’s Payment Systems’. It provides a position of the payments ecosystem in India relative to other major countries.
As per the report, India has made significant progress and moved to a leadership position in large-value digital payment systems. But India is still weak in certain parameters relating to ATMs and card payments.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a 30-ft bronze statue of legendary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju on his 125th birth anniversary.
The 15-tonne statue was carved out at a cost of Rs 3 crore and installed by the Kshatriya Seva Samiti in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh. The leader was known for the ‘Rampa Rebellion’ or ‘Manyam Uprising’, in the Rampachodavaram forest area, which was undertaken against the mighty British forces.

Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry has released ‘Start-ups Ranking 2021’.
The ranking focuses on seven reform areas. Gujarat, Karnataka and Meghalaya were categorised as best performers while Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Mizoram and Ladakh have an emerging start-up ecosystem. Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir were ranked as the top performers section.

Notes:
Tamil Nadu and the Singapore-based IGSS Ventures signed a MoU, for establishing a 300-acre semiconductor high-tech park and a semiconductor fab unit in the State.
The company will invest Rs 25,600 crore in the project in the next five years, generating direct employment for 1,500 people. The MoU was signed with ‘Guidance’, the State’s nodal agency for investment promotion and single-window facilitation.
