The Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Prakash Javdekar has recently inaugurated Asia’s longest high-speed test track at Pithampur of Indore in Madhya Pradesh.
Called as NATRAX (National Automotive Test Tracks), it is 11.3 km in length and will be put to use for testing by automotive companies and component testing companies.

China’s Communist Party has marked the 100th year of its inception recently. This was celebrated in a huge way at the country’s Tiananmen Square. To mark this event, a 100-gun salute was made.
Speaking at the occasion, the China’s leader Xi Jinping addressed that the party was the only force capable of ensuring the country’s rise.

Indian Navy’s athlete MP Jabir qualified for the Tokyo Olympics in 400m hurdles on July 1, 2021 after he clocked 49.78s to win gold at the recently concluded Inter-State Athletics Championships in Patiala. Jabir qualified through the World ranking quota where there are 14 spots available.

The Rampal Power Station is a 1320 megawatt coal-fired power station currently under construction at Rampal Upazila of Bagerhat District in Khulna, Bangladesh. It will be the country’s largest power plant. It is being setup by BIFPCL (Bangladesh India Friendship Power Company Limited).

The U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) has issued a moratorium on federal executions while it reviews policies and procedures. U.S. President Joe Biden had said on his campaign website that he would legislate the end of capital punishment at the federal level and incentivize states to follow suit.

Panchmuli lake, situated near the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ‘Statue of Unity’ in Kevadia, Gujarat. It was seen in the news because as many as 194 crocodiles have been relocated from the lake in the last two years for the safety of tourists.
As per the officials, 143 crocodiles were relocated in 2019-20 and 51 crocodiles were shifted to two rescue centres in 2020-21.

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) gave its nod to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education to provide technical assistance for satellite TV classrooms in India.
This aims to bridge the learning gap due to COVID-induced lockdown. ISRO scientists made a presentation before the Parliamentary Standing Committee for Education, MEITY and Doordarshan, about the proposed satellite TV classroom for students.

The Ministry of women and child development has invited suggestions for the draft of the Trafficking in Persons (Prevention, Care and Rehabilitation) Bill, 2021.
The objective of the bill is to prevent and counter trafficking in persons, especially women and children. According to the draft bill, a person found guilty of trafficking can be imprisoned for seven years to 10 years. Those convicted shall be imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh to 5 lakhs.
