In 2011, the UN General assembly proclaimed July 30 as the International day of Friendship. The decision was taken with an idea that this day will create a friendship bond between peoples of different cultures, countries and religions and will help in achieving world peace by building bridges between different communities.
The United Nations is an international organisation which was founded in 1945. It is headquartered in New York. The main aim of this organisation is to maintain international peace and security, develop friendly relations among nations, achieve international cooperation and act as a center for harmonising the actions of different nations. At present, 193 countries are the members of the United Nations (UN).

Government of India has appointed Deepak Das as the new Controller General of Accounts (CGA) of India. CGA comes under the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. Deepak Das is the 25th CGA. He is a 1986-batch Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officer. He earlier served as the Principal Chief Controller of Accounts in the Central Board of Direct Taxes. He has also been the Director of the Institute of Government Accounts and Finance (INGAF), the training academy of the Indian Civil Accounts Service.
He is an alumnus of Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi.

PhonePe became the first digital investment platform to launch UPI based AutoPay functionality for its Mutual Fund (MF) Systematic Investment Plans ( SIP) and offerings in India. The UPI AutoPay function will be available for existing as well as new investors on PhonePe app.
SIP is an investment route offered by Mutual Funds. In SIP, one can invest a fixed amount in a Mutual fund scheme according to their will at regular intervals.
SIPs are open-ended. Customers can initiate, pause, restart and terminate SIP at any time.
PhonePe  was founded in 2015 and was later acquired by Flipkart in 2016. Its headquarter is in Mumbai and Sameer Nigam is the current CEO of PhonePe.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Indian Bank and IIT Bombay for extending credit facilities to Start-ups and MSMEs. The initiative is implemented by IIT Bombay. The initiative is named as Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE). Under this initiative, Indian Bank will extend loans of up to 50 crore rupees to these start-ups. Loans will be provided for the purchase of machinery and equipment and other working capital requirements.
Indian Bank is an Indian nationalised financial services and banking company. It was established in 1907. Its headquarter is in Chennai. It is under the ownership of the Ministry of Finance of the Government of India.
IIT(Indian Institute of Technology) Bombay was founded in 1958. In 1961, Parliament declared all the IITs as an institute of national importance. IIT Bombay is a public technical and research university located in Powai in Maharashtra.

USA won the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2021 after defeating Mexico and claimed its 7th title.  Mexico is the most successful team till date by claiming 11 titles.
CONCACAF (Confederation of North American and Carribean Association Football) was founded in 1961.
CONCACAF Gold Cup  is the main association football competition of the men’s national football teams governed by CONCACAF. It was started in 1990 and is organised every two years.

“Delhi@2047” initiative was launched recently by Arvind Kejriwal. The aim of this initiative is to build partnerships with the private sector, CSR initiatives and  philanthropic organisations to achieve the vision for Delhi by 2047 and make Delhi as the Global city in the world. The main objectives under this initiative are Increasing Delhi’s per capita income to Singapore’s level, Providing 24*7 water supply before the upcoming elections, to bid for the 2048 Olympics, making roads as per the European standards and many other facilities.

Khalid Mansoor has been appointed as the chief of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority. He replaced Asim Saleem Bajwa. Khalid Mansoor has more than 30 years of experience in energy and petrochemical sectors. He has a good knowledge about execution, management and operations related to mega-projects.
China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a collection of infrastructure projects that are under construction in the regions of Pakistan and China.  It was established on 22 May, 2013.

The Eighth Meeting of Ministers of Justice of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States will be held on 6th August, 2021 and it will be attended by Kiren Rijiju who is the Union Minister of Law & Justice. The Ministers of (Law and) Justice and senior officials/experts from the Ministries of Law & Justice of India, China, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Russian Federation and Uzbekistan will be participating in the Meeting.

Bharat Electronics Limited has been nominated to execute the project of Enhancement of Digital Appeal at National War Memorial. The construction cost towards establishing the National War Memorial is Rs 176.65 crore.

With the passage in Rajya Sabha, Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (Amendment) Bill, 2021 got approval of both houses of Parliament on August 4, 2021. Earlier, on July 29, the Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha. The Bill paves the way for privatisation of a small loss-making airport by clubbing it with a larger airport. The amendment bill proposes to modify the definition of a major airport under the AERA Act 2008. The objective is to pair the smaller non-profitable airports with profitable airports as a combination/package to bidders to make it a viable combination for investment under PPP (public-private partnership) mode.
