Kalia Scheme to merge with PM-KISAN

The flagship Kalia scheme of Odisha government that provides marginal and small cultivators, farmers Rs 10,000 in two installments in a year for two crops will be merged with the Central governments Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN).

Under the Kalia Scheme, the landless farmers are provided with Rs 12,000 annually for the first three years, and marginal and small farmers were provided with Rs 10,000 financial assistance every year for the cultivation of two crops.

Under PM-KISAN the small and marginal farmers are provided with annual support of Rs 6,000.

But as per the new guidelines after the merger, small and marginal farmers will receive Rs 4000 from the Odisha government and 6,000 from the central government.

However, the Odisha government will continue to provide financial support of Rs 12000 to landless farmers after the merger.
