DRDO Rakshita Bike Ambulance

The Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recently developed a bike ambulance called “Rakshita”. The bike ambulance will attend the evacuation needs of the CRPF personnel during emergency or battle injury. The ambulance was developed by INMAS (Institute of Nuclear and Allies Science) operating under DRDO. The ambulances have been developed on Royal Enfield bikes.

Importance

The Rakshita ambulance will be of great help in the areas such as Sukma, Bijapur and Dantewada where the CRPF cannot take big vehicles or ambulances inside the jungle. These are Naxalite zones with narrow roads.
