On November 14, 2020, External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar represented India at the 15th East Asia Summit (EAS). The summit discussed ways to strengthen the platform. The EAS is a group of  10 ASEAN countries that includes Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam), and also Australia, China, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Russia and the US.
