Punjab: 3037 e-gram Suvidha centres
The state government of Punjab comes up with a decision to set up 3037 e-gram Suvidha centres in the villages across the state at a cost of Rs 90 crore. The government has given approval to implement the scheme within a stipulated time frame and within a year. These e-grams centres would ensure the delivery of basic people friendly services viz delivery of old-age pension, registration of pension for handicapped and widows and disabled persons with an easy access.
Haryana: New Technique to identify sex of Date Palm at Nursery Stage

BHEL: 40% Growth in a Year
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has recorded an all-time high growth of 40 per cent over the previous year. Out of the total order booking of Rs 59,031 crore by BHEL in 2009-10, its Industry business segment contributed an order inflow of Rs 14,366 crore
Maharastra: Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayi Yojana
Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayi Yojana is a new version of existing Jeevandayi Yojana. Jeevandayi Yojana is for BPL families only while the new scheme is for all families whose annual income is up to Rs one lakh. The scheme will be launched in August 2010 (probably on August 15) and will be launched in six districts, Dhule, Gadchiroli, Raigad, Amravati, Solapur and Nanded. The scheme is a family mediclaim insurance scheme and will benefit 2.4 crore families of the state.
EDI Center in Kazhakhastan
The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI),Ahamedabad is autonomous body and not-for-profit institution, set up in 1983, is sponsored by IDBI Bank Ltd, IFCI Ltd. ICICI Ltd and State Bank of India (SBI). It is a national institute which promotes entrepreneurship through Education, Research, Training and Institution Building.
The EDI is setting up a new centre at Almaty, the capital of khazhakhastan on a turnkey basis which shall promote entrepreneurship in the central asian Country. The project was sponosred by the external affairs ministry and Damu Fund of Kazakhstan is expected to invest $1.7 billion in the venture.
Uddhav Thackeray in NIC
Uddhav Thackeray, Executive President, Shivsena has also been nominated to the reconstituted NIC in the category ‘Leaders of Regional Political Parties’. The 103-member NIC was constituted after a gap of 12 years having held its last meeting in 1992.

McDonald’s recalls ‘Shrek’ glasses

New Prime Minister of Japan
One June 4, 2010, Naoto Kan has been designated as Prime Minister of japan by the Diet. The Constitution of Japan provides that Prime Minister shall be designated from among the members of the Diet by a resolution of the Diet, and that the Emperor shall appoint the Prime Minister as designated by the Diet. Kan is expected to be appointed as Japan’s 94th Prime Minister by Emperor Akihito. Mr. Naoto Kan replaces Yukio Hatoyama.
