PPP X Change – Mumbai
PPPX change is a bi-annual Public Private Partnership workshop launched by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Union Ministry of Finance at Mumbai. This aims at enhancing the Public Private Sector partnerships.

Punjabi Shiromani Sahit Awards – 2009
Noted writer Kartar Singh Duggal selected for Punjabi Sahit Ratana award, and Om Puri selected for Shiromani Punjabi Television/ Radio/ Theatre/ Play/ Producer/Writer’s award. Apart from them 17 more people were selected for Shiromani awards under different categories.
Indrajaala Prathibha Puraskaram Mani Antony
Mani Antony has won this year’s Indrajaala Prathibha Puraskaram, the lifetime achievement award for magicians instituted by the Magic Academy.

Container Handling Facility development Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT)
Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure approves the development of a Standalone Container Handling Facility with a Quay Length of 330 Meter towards North at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) at a cost of Rs 600 crore. This project will be developed on the basis of Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT).
National Tobacco Control Programme
On 28 January 2010, Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP). read here
Red Ribbon Express Phase II
India has the dubious distinction of having the second largest population of HIV-positive persons in the world.
National AIDS Control Policy which had a target of arriving at zero infection rate by the year 2007 and to help people understand that prevention is the key in keeping India safe from HIV/AIDS, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had decided to launch a massive national communication campaign with its unique four Red Ribbon Express. Thus Red Ribbon Express is an AIDS/HIV awareness campaign train by the Indian Railways. This dedicated Train enters Karnataka on its second leg on February 2, 1010.
Red Ribbon Express is a concept of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation which was launched with the assistance of the UNISEF, NRHM, NACO and Indian Railways. Till February it will remain in Karnatka and will reach Kerala afterwards.
‘State of the Internet’ report
‘State of the Internet’ report by Akamai Technologies for the October-December quarter adjusted Kerala with an average speed of 1,386 Kbps as state with Top Internet Speed in India . Kerala has pushed down Haryana to the second spot (with 1,105 Kbps) and Karnataka to the third position (1,041 kbps).

The 98th edition of Australian Open was 2010 Australian Open that was played in Melbourne, Australia, from January 18 to January 31, 2010.

Singles:
Men’s Singles: Roger Federer from Switzerland defeated Andy Murray of UK
This was Federer’s first title of the year and his 62nd overall. It was his 16th Career Grand Slam title, and his 4th Australian Open title tying Andre Agassi for most Australian Open titles in the Open Era. This was Federer’s 5th final at the Australian Open that tied him with Stefan Edberg for the Open Era record.
Women’s Singles: Serena Williams from United States defeating Justine Henin of Belgium.
This was Williams’ first title of the year, a record 5th Australian Open title in the Open Era. The title was Williams’ 12th major title, which tied her for 6th all-time with Billie Jean King and Suzanne Lenglen, and in the Open Era solo 4th having surpassed Court’s 11 mark, which Williams’ is behind Graf (22), Evert and Navratilova with (18) each.
Doubles:
Men’s Doubles:
Bob Bryan & Mike Bryan of United States defeated Daniel Nestor (Canada) and Nenad Zimonjić (Serbia)
This was the Bryan Brothers’ 57th doubles title together, 4th Australian Open title, and 8th major title.
Women’s Singles
Serena Williams & Venus Williams of United States defeated Cara Black (Zimbabwe) and Liezel Huber (United States)
This is the Williams Sisters’ 11th Grand Slam doubles title together and 4th Australian Open title.
Mixed Doubles:
Cara Black (Zimbabwe) and Leander Paes (India) defeated Ekaterina Makarova (Russia ) and Jaroslav Levinský (Czhech Republic)
This was the pair’s 3rd consecutive grand slam final and the 4th overall. The victory makes Paes India’s joint-lead grand slam winner alongside his ex- doubles partner Mahesh Bhupathi with a total of 11 grand slam doubles titles. This title gave Cara Black a career mixed doubles grand slam, which Black has won one of each slam in mixed doubles.

Money for Women Hockey Players
Women hockey players would receive Rs 2.2 lakh each. The money came from the Rs 1 crore donation made by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan and the Rs 10 lakh from ASSOCHAM
