On December 25, 2020, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs launched the E-Sampada portal and mobile appl for booking holiday homes and event venues. Over one lakh government accommodation, 1,176 holiday homes, 45 office complexes have brought under this platform.

BSF, BGB agreed to increase Night Vigil

On December 25, 2020, the Border Security Force of India and Border Security Guard of Bangladesh agreed to intensify their nigh vigil. This is being done to prevent smuggling.

The Foreign Exchange Reserve of India has increased by 2.563 billion USD. The gold reserves increased from 1.008 billion USD to 37.020 billion USD. The Special Drawing Rights with the International Monetary Fund increased by 12 million USD. The reserve position of the country with the International Monetary Fund increased by 160 million USD to 4.870 billion USD.

The United Kingdom and Brexit reached a post Brexit trade agreement. After ratified by the European Union leaders the agreement will pave way for trade between the 27-nation bloc and UK without quotas or tariffs.

Former bowler Chetan Sharma named Chairman of Selectors

The former India pacer Chetan Sharma, Debasish Mohanty and Abey Kuruvilla are to be appointed as the National team selectors. Chetan will replace Sunil Joshi as the chairman of the panel. Chetan represented India in 23 tests and 65 ODIs between 1984 and 1994.

Former England opening Batsman John Edrich died

John Edrich, the former England opening batsman passed away at the age of 83. He had played 77 test matches and had scored 5,138 runs. His highest score was 310.
