At the World Knowledge Forum 2009, in Seoul, Mind Tree Limited, a global IT Solutions company, was given the ‘Asian Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Award by Teleos, in association with ‘The KNOW Network.
Update October 22, 2009:
IT major Infosys Technologies Ltd has been recognized amongst the top 16 Asian companies to be listed in the prestigious Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) study, 2009. This was for the seventh time Infosys was winning the Asian MAKE award and it was one of the five Indian companies amongst the leading Asian corporations to have won the honour this year.
October 15, 2009:Greentech Environment award
Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala has bagged the prestigious Greentech Environment Excellence Gold Award 2009 consecutively for the second year. Greentech Foundation conferred this award in 10th Annual Greentech Conference on Environment Management held at Kovalam (Kerala) on October 12.
October 15, 2009: SCOPE Award Individual Category
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh conferred the SCOPE Award for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to Public Sector Management under Individual category on Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) Chairman S K Roongta, for the year 2007-08. Mr Roongta also received three other major awards for SAIL-the Gold Trophy of SCOPE Award for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to Public Sector Management in the Institutional category for 2006-07, and two MoU Excellence Awards in the categories Mining & Metals and Listed Companies for 2007-08.
October 16, 2009: SI-Nihilent e-governance awards
Gujarat has won four major CSI-Nihilent e-goverance awards for 2008-09 for contributions in the field of e-governance. The awards have been instituted by the Computer Society of India and sponsored by Nihilent Technologies Limited. The winners were Finance Department for award of excellence, Junagadh district for special recognition in district category, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Judiciary for project category and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for special recognition in information security management system.
October 19, 2009: World Soundtrack Award to AR Rahman
Double Oscar winner A R Rahman has won the World Soundtrack Award for Best Original Song Written for Film for Jai Ho (Slumdog Millionaire). Two time Oscar nominee, Alexandre Desplat, was chosen as Film Composer of the Year 2009 and also took home the award for Best Original Film Score of the Year (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). Nico Muhly was the World Soundtrack Academys new discovery of the year with the score for The Reader and three time Oscar winner Marvin Hamlisch was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The World Soundtrack Academy Awards 2009 marked the closing event of the 36th Ghent International Film Festival.
