CRIIIO 4 GOOD Modules

Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, unveiled a new online life skills learning module called ‘CRIIIO 4 GOOD.’ The program’s primary aim is to promote gender equality among girls and boys. It was launched in collaboration with the International Cricket Council (ICC), UNICEF, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Emphasis on Gender Equality

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 focuses on gender parity and equal opportunities as a core principle. The ‘CRIIIO 4 GOOD’ leverages the power of sports, specifically cricket, to empower girls and raise awareness about gender equity.

Cricket’s Role in Empowerment

Renowned Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana shared the first learning modules of ‘CRIIIO 4 GOOD’ with over 1,000 schoolchildren at the stadium. These modules are designed to be highly engaging and utilize cricket’s popularity to convey essential life skills and promote gender equity among girls and boys in a fun and interactive manner.

Content of ‘CRIIIO 4 GOOD’

‘CRIIIO 4 GOOD’ comprises eight cricket-based animation films that aim to foster gender parity, equip girls with vital life skills, and encourage their active participation in sports. These modules were jointly released by the ICC and UNICEF to inspire children and youth to develop crucial life skills and understand the significance of gender equality.

Accessibility and Languages

The program can be accessed free of cost via the web pportal, and it is available in three languages: English, Hindi, and Gujarati.

Themes and Real-life Examples

The eight modules cover a range of themes, including leadership, problem-solving, confidence, decision-making, negotiation, empathy, teamwork, and goal setting. These themes are brought to life through state-of-the-art animation, using cricketing examples. The films are designed to be relatable by incorporating in-depth research into local nuances.
