Constitution of India Manuscript Replica at Sharjah Book Fair 2024

The 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is currently showcasing a remarkable replica of the original handwritten Constitution of India manuscript. This exhibit is part of India’s extensive literary representation at the fair, which runs from November 6 to 17, 2024. The A3-sized replica is certified by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, ensuring high quality and clarity in its presentation.

India’s Literary Showcase

The National Book Trust (NBT) of India is leading this initiative. NBT is an autonomous publishing body under India’s Ministry of Education. It features several notable collections, including the PM-YUVA series, which focuses on India’s Freedom Movement and Knowledge Systems. Another highlight is the Indian@75 series, celebrating India’s journey since independence.

Participation Details

India’s presence is important at SIBF 2024, with 52 major publishers participating. This year, over 2,500 publishers from 112 countries are involved. The UAE tops Arab participation with 234 publishers, while the United Kingdom leads international participation with 81 publishers.

Guest of Honour and Speakers

Morocco is the Guest of Honour this year. It showcases its rich literary and cultural heritage. The event features 49 international speakers from 14 nations, adding to the diverse literary dialogue. A total of 134 distinguished guests are attending, enhancing the event’s prestige.

Workshops and Activities

Under the theme, it Starts with a Book, SIBF 2024 offers an extensive programme. More than 400 authors are participating, and the fair hosts 600 workshops aimed at all age groups. Exclusive pre-booked sessions are available, led by prominent global experts in creative writing.

SIBF continues to strengthen its role as a key literary gathering in the region. The event encourages international cultural exchange and celebrates literary diversity. It provides a platform for authors, publishers, and readers to connect and share ideas.
