CONAT

CONAT is a new military unit launched in Colombia to target the structures of drug trafficking and transnational threats related to unlawful mining and human and wildlife trafficking. The unit consists of 7,000 personnel. It will be deployed in Catalumbo region and near border areas. Colombia is considered to the world’s largest producer of cocaine and is constantly pressured by the US, top destination for cocaine consumption, to address the issue.
