Communal Harmony Week or Quami Ekta Week observance begins
National Integration Week or “Qaumi Ekta Week” is observed from 19th to 25th November 2016 throughout the country with an aim to foster and reinforce the spirit of communal harmony and national integration among the citizens. The National Integration Week is observed to underline the inherent strength and resilience of the country to withstand potential threats which are affecting the secular fabric of the country.
The week-long observances include National Integration Day, Welfare of Minorities Day, Linguistic Harmony Day, Weaker Sections Day, Cultural Unity Day, Women’s Day, and Conservation Day.
NFCH organises Communal Harmony Campaign coinciding with the Qaumi Ekta Week and observes the Communal Harmony Flag Day on 25th November. As a part of the campaign, the organisation will raise funds to support its activities.
The National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH) is an autonomous organisation with the Ministry of Home Affairs. The organisation strives to promote communal harmony and strengthen national integration. It also gives financial aid and assistance to the orphaned and destitute children affected by communal, caste, ethnic or terrorist violence.
