Chief Minister COVID-19 Yoddha Kalyan Yojana: 1 lakh Anganwadi workers benefitted

The State Government of Madhya Pradesh recently launched the Chief Minister COVID-19 Yoddha Kalyan Yojana. Under the scheme, around 1 lakh Anganwadi workers are to be benefitted.

Highlights

Under the scheme, the Anganwadi workers are to get special health insurance of Rs 50 lakhs. The collectors of the districts in the state are to list the names of the Anganwadi workers that are eligible to benefit from the scheme.

The Anganwadi workers are taking risks conducting door-to-door survey. Apart from taking survey, they are also visiting every house to provide nutritional food to children. Thus, they pose great risk of COVID-19 infection and hence they should certainly be provided with the benefit.

Anganwadi

Anganwadi is a rural child care centre. It was begun by the Indian Government in 1975. These centres provide pre-school education, health education, immunization and health checkup. The responsibilities of the Anganwadi workers have been listed by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. Today, Anganwadi workers are receiving Rs 15,000 per month as salary.
