Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Telugu to be inaugurated by Vice President of India

On 21st January 2020, in the presence of the Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal `Nishank’, the new Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Telugu (CESCT) will be inaugurated by the Vice President of India, Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu at Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. The Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and other dignitaries will be present there as the Guests of Honour at the centre for the inauguration ceremony.

The Centre has been established with an aim to develop their rich Classical Telugu by doing Research, seminars, debates and various programmes, which is under the functioning of Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysore that is now shifted to Nellore, Andhra Pradesh.

On 20th January 2020, a one-day group discussion has been organized so that the richness of Telugu language can be taken to greater heights by discussing on various topics related to Classical Telugu and preservation, propagation and promotion of Classical Telugu, in which experts in Classical Telugu will be participating from many parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and other parts of India at the Centre. The Vice President will also express his views on the issues that will be discussed by the Experts by taking part in the concluding part of the one-day group discussion.
