The ICN is a global organization consisting of 140 competition agencies, providing antitrust authorities with a specialized and informal platform for maintaining regular communication and addressing practical competition-related issues.

Its membership includes national and multinational competition authorities from various countries. Members actively contribute to the network’s objectives through their participation in project-oriented and results-driven working groups.

Recent Developments in India’s Role

In the past month, India hosted the bi-annual conference of competition regulators from the BRICS grouping, marking a significant event after a decade. During this conference, various topics related to antitrust regulations were deliberated upon, including those pertaining to digital players and the leniency regime.
This achievement underscores India’s growing influence and active participation in international forums dedicated to competition law and antitrust regulations.
