CCEA approves construction of Rajaswa Bhawan as the National Tax Headquarters
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA approved the construction of the Rajaswa Bhawan as the National Tax Headquarters at Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi at an estimated cost of Rs 485.16 crore.
Objective: To decongest North Block and consolidate the establishment of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) at a common platform. The need for a composite and larger platform for both these largest revenue collecting boards of the Government of India was felt because of growth in revenue collection and also to enhance the efficiency of tax administration. The construction of the building has been entrusted with the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
