Caracal
Caracal, which is found in parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat, was included in critically endangered species as it is under threat of extinction in India. Apart from India, this animal is found in several other countries across Africa, the Middle East, Central and South Asia. Its name is derived from Turkish term ‘karakulak’, which means ‘black ears’. In India, it is called siya gosh, which is the Persian term for ‘black ear’.
