Business Immunity Platform
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 scare, the centre has launched the Invest India Business Immunity Platform (BIP) to help address the uncertainties among the businesses.
About the Platform
The Business Immunity Platform was launched by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on March 21st, 2020. It is a comprehensive resource platform, hosted on Invest India website, to give real time updates on the COVID-19 situation to investors and businesses. Over 48 hours, the platform has had nearly 30,000 visitors from across 40 countries.
Purpose of the BIP
The BIP will function 24X7 and will have a dedicated team of sector experts to handle the queries. The BIP will give information like:
- Developments with respect to the SARS CoV 2 situation
- Central and state government initiatives
- Locations for COVID-19 testing
- Other location specific information
- Special permissions
- Response mechanisms being used by top Indian companies, etc.
Invest India
Invest India is the national investment promotion and facilitation agency and it functions under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. It acts as the ‘first point of reference for investors in India’. It was established as a non-profit organisation in 2009 under the ministry’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
