Bundelkhand Expressway

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for Bundelkhand Expressway in Uttar Pradesh. The 15 thousand crore INR project will improve connectivity in the Bundelkhand region.

  • Bundelkhand Expressway Project:

The Bundelkhand Expressway project is a 296 km long, 4 lane access controlled expressway that will link Chitrakoot, Banda, Hamirpur and Jalaun districts in UP. It is to be developed by UPEIDA (Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority) under the state government.

  • Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor:

The Bundelkhand Expressway is expected to give a boost to the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor. The UPDIC project will link Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Kanpur and Lucknow in UP. The project is aimed at improving domestic manufacturing for the defence sector. This is the second such project in India after the defence industrial corridor project in Tamil Nadu.

  •  Taj Expressway:

Taj Expressway or the Yamuna Expressway project is another connectivity project in Uttar Pradesh implemented by the UPEIDA. It is about 165km long and links Agra with Greater Noida. It is one of India’s longest 6 lane expressway.

  • Agra-Lucknow Expressway:

Agra-Lucknow Expressway is also a project implemented by UPEIDA. It is a 302km long expressway in Uttar Pradesh between Lucknow and Agra. It is the longest expressway in India. It is recognised as a greenfield project. The Yamuna Express and the Agra-Lucknow Expressway links the Bundelkhand region with the NCR Delhi.
