Brand India Campaign
Commerce Ministry of India is planning to launch “Brand India Campaign” in order to give momentum to exports of services as well as products in new markets.
About Brand India Campaign
- Campaign will be launched in the light that; India’s outbound shipments is set to cross $400 billion in fiscal year 2021-22.
- Brand India Campaign would serve as an “umbrella campaign” to promote goods and services exported by India.
- Campaign would focus on Indian exports in specific sectors like gems & jewellery; textiles; plantation products like tea, coffee & spices; healthcare; education, engineering and pharma; in the initial phase.
- It would focus on quality, technology, heritage, value, and innovation.
What is the need of such campaign?
There is a need of such uniform campaign because presently, different sectors are being promoted with individual identities in different ways.
Who will run the campaign?
The Brand India Campaign will be run by India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF).
Branding Steering Committee
Under the campaign, an agency will be selected and a Branding Steering Committee will be set up for the purpose. Furthermore, uniform logo identity will be created and branding creatives like films, TVCs, digital banners & print ads will be developed.

The campaign approach would include:
- Focused export-oriented messaging to buyers as well as consumers;
- New potential markets
- Indian talent
- Tradition and modernity
- Promotional events through digital channels & international events.
India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF)
IBEF) is an Indian Government export promotion agency, established in 1996, for the distribution and sale of Indian products in global markets. It was established by Department of Commerce under Ministry of Commerce and Industry. It is funded and owned by Indian Government. IBEF works as the branding and communication partner to facilitate India’s participation at global trade exhibitions. IBEF manages onsite branding, public relations, media advertisements, Digital marketing, knowledge kits and publishing reports.
