BLUIS: Odisha’s satellite-based technology to prevent encroachment of government land
On July 8, 2020, the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched BLUIS-Bhubaneswar Land Use Intelligence System. The system will help in preventing encroachments of government lands with the help of satellites.

BLUIS is a web and mobile based solution to monitor changes in government lands in Bhubaneswar. The system uses high resolution satellite images to safeguard the lands.
Odisha is the first state in the country to tap artificial intelligence and space technology to protect government lands.
About BLUIS
BLUIS is geo-tapped repository created using high-resolution satellite images. It helps to detect changes taking place in government lands. The mobile application linked to BLUIS enables crowdsourcing cases of unauthorized land uses. Also, the application can be used by the citizens to report unauthorized development that are taking place in geo-tagged government lands.
