Bihar’s Mahila Samvad Campaign

The “Mahila Samvad” campaign was launched by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to enhance women’s empowerment. This initiative aims to connect women with state welfare measures. The campaign is designed to inform and empower women across Bihar, especially in rural areas.

Campaign Objectives

The Mahila Samvad campaign seeks to educate women about government schemes. The initiative aims to inspire women to utilise available resources. It also encourages dialogue between women and officials to address their concerns. The campaign intends to compile suggestions from women for future policy formulation.

Awareness Vehicles

The campaign features 600 “women dialogue” vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with large screens to showcase government initiatives. They will travel to all districts to spread awareness. This mobile approach ensures that information reaches remote areas effectively. The vehicles will facilitate direct conversations between women and government representatives.

Engagement Strategy

The campaign targets over two crore women across Bihar. It plans to organise discussions at approximately 70,000 locations. Senior officials will be present to resolve issues raised by women. This engagement strategy aims to create a responsive government that addresses women’s needs promptly.

Expected Outcomes

The campaign is expected to yield several outcomes. It aims to enhance awareness of women’s rights and welfare schemes. Increased participation of women in governance is anticipated. The initiative may also encourage a sense of community among women. By addressing their concerns, the government hopes to build trust and support.
