Bihar Military Police

Headquartered in Patna, Bihar Military Police is involved in combating Maoist activities in Bihar. It is currently in charge of securing the Mahabodhi Temple in Gaya, the Darbhanga airport and other industrial and commercial units in the state. A new bill called Bihar Special Armed Police Bill 2021 was recently passed to give this force more teeth. Under this new law, this security force can carry out searches and arrests without a warrant or the magistrate’s approval.
