Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojna Scheme: Haryana includes more crops
The state government Haryana has decided to bring more crops under its ‘Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojna (BBY)’ scheme. The decision was taken at a BBY’s review meeting which was presided by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
About Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojna (BBY) scheme
BBY is a scheme for vegetable growers. Under it farmers get compensated for selling their crop at a price lower than that fixed by government. The scheme launched in January 2018 then included potato, onion, tomato and cauliflower. It has been very successful in past two years it.
For getting the scheme benefits, the state’s farmers have to register themselves on ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB)’ portal and if they get a price lower than price fixed by government for their crop on its sale in the mandis, the difference will be paid as incentive to the farmers directly into their bank accounts.
More crops that will be includes under BBY are– Carrots, peas, kinnow, guava, capsicum and brinjal will also be included. Under BBY the price of carrots has been fixed at Rs.700/ quintal and peas Rs.1100/quintal. However, the rate of capsicum and brinjal will be decided on the recommendation of the committee constituted under the Haryana Kisan Kalyan Ayog chairman.
