Bar Kokhba Revolt

Bar Kokhba revolt was an armed uprising of Jews against the Roman Empire in ancient Israel. It is also known as the 3rd Jewish Roman War. It took place between 132 and 136 AD, during the reign of Roman Emperor Hadrian. It took place in the Roman province of Judea due to religious and political tensions. The revolt was led by a Jewish military leader, Simon Bar Kokhba. It resulted in the formation of a temporary independent Jewish state. Recently, scroll fragments from the Bar Kokhba Revolt period was discovered in Israel.
