Bal Sahitya Puraskar and Yuva Puraskar

The Sahitya Akademi has announced the Bal Sahitya Puraskar and Yuva Puraskar for the year 2019.

Bal Sahitya Puraskar

Bal Sahitya Puraskar is awarded to an author of the book which is an outstanding contribution to language and literature or Individual based on the overall contribution to Children Literature. Translated works are not eligible for the award.

Yuva Puraskar

Yuva Puraskar is awarded to the first book or best book by an Indian author below the age of 35. Translated works are not eligible for the award.

Sahitya Akademi

The Sahitya Akademi was formally inaugurated by the Government of India on 12 March 1954. Sahitya Akademi was established as a national organisation to work actively for the development of Indian letters and to set high literary standards, to foster and co-ordinate literary activities in all the Indian languages and to promote through them all the cultural unity of the country. The Akademi functions as an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Culture.
