AYUSH, MeitY ministries signs MoU for digitisation of AYUSH sector

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and Union Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) has signed to collaborate on digitization of AYUSH sector.

Key Highlights of MoU

As per MoU, MeitY has agreed to advice and give technical support to AYUSH Ministry for planning and development of AYUSH GRID Project.

Need for Project: In pursuance to National Health Policy 2017 and e-governance initiative, AYUSH Ministry seeks to digitize entire AYUSH as it will lead to transformation in at all levels of health care delivery field, along with education, greater research, delivery of various health care programmes and better drug regulations.

Significance: AYUSH GRID Project will be beneficial for all stakeholders, including citizens of country and will also help to achieve various national and international goals in healthcare. Also, high quality technical support from MeitY to AYUSH Ministry would lead to success in endeavor of Ministry of AYUSH in field of digitalization.

Meity & Healthcare

Meity led health initiatives: includes e-Aushadhi, e-Hospital, e-Rakt Kosh, Online Registration System (ORS) and e-Shushrut for digitizing internal work-flows and processes of hospitals enabling efficient and online delivery of health care services across India.

It has sponsored a number of Research and Development projects for development of medical electronics devices and systems like medical and imaging equipment, establishing a centre of excellence in medical electronics.

Meity has also launched an online information guide called Vikaspedia. It is a portal for various social sectors including health as well as offers information in 23 languages.
