Avinash Arun’s Marathi film “Killa” won Crystal Bear award at Berlin Fest
Mr. Avinash Arun’s directorial debut, the Marathi feature film “Killa” won the Crystal Bear (Glasernen Bar) for the Best Film awarded by the Children’s Jury in Generation Kplus section at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival (also known as the Berlinale).

First Indian feature film to win Crystal Bear award.
Deals with the universal conflict of migration and how it impacts the lives of people, especially children.
- The story is about an 11 year old child, Chinu, who is coping with the death of his father and finds it difficult to adapt to a new place he has migrated to.
- Directed by Avinash Arun.
- Produced by Madhukar R Musle, Ajay G Rai and Alan McAlex under the banner, Jar Pictures and presented by M R Filmworks.
- Will be released in May, 2014.
Note: ‘Killa’ is the third Marathi film to premier and compete at the Berlin film festival.
