Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes dies after head injury

Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes died after he had suffered a severe head injury due to a bouncer during a match. He was 25. He was in coma for three days following the injury sustained while playing in a Sheffield Shield game in Sydney Cricket Ground.
After this incident, Hughes had undergone emergency surgery to relieve pressure on his brain after being struck on the head by a ball. The cricket fraternity across the world today reacted with shock and sadness at the sad demise of Phil Hughes.

Phillip Joel Hughes was an Australian Test and One-Day International (ODI) cricketer. He had played for domestic cricket for South Australia and Worcestershire. He was a left-handed opening batsman who played for two seasons with New South Wales before making his Test debut in 2009 at the age of 20.
