Australia defeats India at finals of Women’s T20 World Cup 2020

At the final match of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia, India was defeated by the Australian team by 85 runs.

Meg Lanning-led team posted the highest ever total in Women’s T20 cricket and clinched their fifth Twenty20 World Cup title. India had beaten Australia in the earlier group match but it could not beat the team in the final. Indians Shefali Sharma and Poonam Yadav played outstanding roles in the tournament.
