Attempt to boost tourism with the development of Vizag-Bheemli beach corridor
Union tourism Ministry approved Rs.45 crore to AP Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) for the development of Visakhapatnam-Bheemunipatnam Beach Corridor Mega Circuit. It will cover the stretch of 26km which goes along the beach between two Ports in Andhra Pradesh.
Objective:
- Provide state of art transport facilities between the two major tourist port locations.
- Earn global recognition to tourism at Visakhapatnam.
Proposed implementation:
- APTDC has appointed APTICO and ILFS agency to prepare a feasibility report of the project.
- Development will include:
i) Raised side footpaths and kerbs,
ii) Straight and improvement of curves,
iii) Widening of bridges & culverts,
iv) Central lighting,
v) View points on beachfront at selected places,
vi) Providing shelters and sanitation facilities.
