Astronauts’ training for Gaganyan begins in Russia

As a part mission gaganyan, India’s first manned mission into space, training of Indian astronauts has begun in Russia. 4 Indian air force pilots, who were selected last month for the mission, will be trained at Yuri Gagrin Cosmonauts Training center, Russia. Gaganyan, a seven day mission will put a spacecraft with Indian crew in Low earth orbit (300- 400 km above earth’s surface). The spacecraft will also have an effective Crew Escape system that will allow the crew to put themselves at a distance from rocket in case of emergency abort.
