Assam: First Indian state to observe Child Protection Day on March 4, 2014

Assam became the first state in the country to observe Child Protection Day with the support of Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR) in collaboration with United Nations Children‘s Fund (UNICEF).

The day was observed to highlight issues related to children viz. quality education, importance of protection of children, child trafficking, child marriage, etc.

Note: Internationally Child Protection Day is observed on 19 November every year.
