ASMP scheme

ASMP or Assistance to States for Modernization of Police scheme is a sub-scheme under the Modernization of Police Forces scheme that seeks to modernize and equip the Indian Police to adequacy. It is a centrally sponsored scheme that is implemented by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Under this scheme, central financial assistance is used, along with the states’ share, to procure the latest training equipment, weaponry, communication equipment, forensic equipment, etc. About 59 crore INR had been released for 2020-21.
