Asia Environmental Enforcement Award 2020

The Asia Environmental Enforcement Award 2020 was conferred to the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). This award publicly recognises government officials/institutions combating transboundary environmental crimes like illegal trade of wildlife, chemicals or wastes. Such crimes have become a matter of concern especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. WCCB had earlier received this award in 2018. It is a statutory body under Environment Ministry set up for combating wildlife crimes.
