Armed Forces Veterans Day

14th January is being observed as Armed Forces Veterans Day as a mark of recognition and respect of the services rendered by the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, Field Marshal KM Cariappa. The day acknowledges and honors the sacrifice of our military veterans who have served the nation with selfless devotion. The day was first observed in 2017, this year marks the 4th Armed Forces Veterans Day of India.

From all three services, Veteran officers and Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) along with three-star officers will pay to attend a homage ceremony at the National War Memorial in New Delhi. Later in the afternoon, the Chiefs of Army, Air force and Navy will be attending a Veterans Day function at the Manekshaw Centre located in the Delhi Cantonment were around 2000 veterans from all armed forces wings of India are expected to attend the function. In seven Command Headquarters of the Army, Navy and Air Force from across the country, the Day will be celebrated.
