Sonal Shah, worked for Google on its Global Development team., has been appointed head of the new Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation in the Obama administration.
April 22 : Naresh Chandra appointed chairman of the Advisory Board of PWC
Price Waterhouse (PW) India has set up an advisory board and has named former cabinet secretary, Naresh Chandra as its chairman. Chandra, former cabinet secretary to the government of India, has also served as an ambassador to the USA. The advisory board will induct the opinions and views of the external shareholders and hence enable PW to reflect those matters in its decision making. V.K. Shunglu and B.B. Tandon also join as members of the Advisory Board.
V.K. Shunglu is a former comptroller and auditor general of India, India’s apex Constitutional audit authority. Shunglu has also held the position of chairman of the United Nations Board of Auditors General and was a member of the UN Panel of External Auditors.
B.B. Tandon is a former chief election commissioner. He has also been the secretary of the Ministry of Mines and the Ministry of Personnel. He was the additional secretary heading the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and was also a member of the SEBI board
PWC was the auditor of Satyam when Scam was unearthed.

Mr. Balvinder Singh , An IPS of the 1975 batch from Andhra Pradesh, is the New additional Director CBI . Mr Singh has been decorated with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 1992 and the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 1998. he was associated with CBI during 1990-91
April 20, 2009 : Shikha Sharma Axis bank CEO
Shikha Sharma, the MD of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, the largest private sector life insurance company, has been appointed as the new managing director and CEO of Axis Bank, the third largest private sector bank. Incidentally P J Nayak, Chairman & CEO of the bank has put in his papers after dissenting on the decision. He was keen on Hemant Kaul, one of the executive directors of the bank, succeeding him.
April 16, 2009: Indu Liberhan Secretary Defence Finance
Indu Liberhan, A 1972 IDAS officer, Ms Indu Liberhan is India’s New Secretary (Defence Finance).She was Additional Controller General of Defence Accounts in the Ministry of Defence. Ms Liberhan brings with her over 36 years of experience of handling intricate financial matters in various central ministries, including defence budgeting, according to the Defence Ministry.Born in 1950, Ms Liberhan has also been the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts, besides serving as Principal Advisor to the TRAI.She has also worked in the Department of Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Department of Power and DG-BSF in various capacities.

The former Indian ambassador to the United Nations, Nirupam Sen, has been appointed Special Senior Adviser to the president of the 192-member General Assembly on the world financial and economic crisis.
