Anshu Jamshenpa from Arunachal Pradesh scales Everest for third time

Anshu Jamshenpa of Arunachal Pradesh achieved success in scaling the Mount Everest for the third time.

  • She already keeps the record of being the only mother in the world to have scaled the Mount Everest twice in 10 days.
  • Anshu Jamshenpa was among the six mountaineers from the north-east to make it to the summit. Among the six were David Zohmangaiha of Mizoram, Tarun Saikia of Assam and Wangsuk Myrthong of Meghalaya, who became the first mountaineers from their States to have successfully scaled the Mount Everest. Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi announced a financial assistance of 20 lakh rupees to Saikia for his achievement.
